International I Walk Day

October 7th, we invite all students to walk to school and celebrate International I-Walk Day.  I-Walk is all about healthy, active transportation to and from school. We stretch the term “walk” to include biking, running or any active, human powered, and safe form of transportation to school. October 7th, we have some special activities planned including a school-wide K-6 walk in the schoolyard from 8:30-8:40. That’ll get everyone’s day off to a great start.

We appreciate that the students who bus to school may not be able to join in the walk from home to school, but they’ll be able to participate in all of the planned activities as they arrive at school.

Later on in the morning, we are hosting Mayor Watson’s proclamation of International I-Walk Day and I-Walk Week. All students will be invited to this special assembly. There will be representatives from the different school boards, the City of Ottawa, OSTA and School Travel Planning.
