Advent, a Time for Giving

Our school community has been very busy this Advent. Here is a summary of the many projects that we have supported over the past four weeks. Social justice projects at SJ:
  • Syrian Refugee fundraiser $374 (doubled by the government matching dollars)

  • Nigerian Orphans Fund (Fr. Titus) $507 Grade 1s made Christmas cards and messages for the children. This number is continuing to increase as donations continue.

  • 20 bags of winter wear for Dr F.J. McDonald

  • Angel Tree (both communities: SJ and FJ) Thanks to Ms Yeomans and Ms Salter and all of our "givers" and wrapping volunteers.

  • Toiletries Train- the train is overflowing (Amor Dei- St Leonards)

  • SHOUT raised approximately $250.00 at the White Elephant Sale selling beaded jewelry they made.

  • a number of student donations have been made to SHOUT and their work with the sandwich making program for the Shepherds of Good Hope

  • Lent will see our continued involvement in the OK Clean Water Project, our SHOUT initiatives and our continued support of our sister school
