Bully Prevention and Awareness Week
We had a great week here at St. Jerome Catholic School looking at kindness and what to do when you are confronted with situations where you may witness someone being bullied, or if you are being bullied. The most important thing that you can do is tell someone. Your parents, teachers, and friends are all here to help you if you are having problems with someone. This week, Gr. 6 student Bridget Hampton shared with us a beautiful poem that she wrote to help bring awareness to bullying awareness and prevention. Please take a look at her poem below. Dear bully, why do you do this to me, Is your life at home harder, Do you scream and plead, Does your life compare, To my despair Do they hurt you as you hurt me? Is it for fun and games, Is it worth my pain. Do you laugh and howl, When i cry and scowl. When they stare and look Do you think i feel good? I don’t, but you already turned your back The way you look at me, A glare or stare Am i an object to you? Is it all a game for you? You wonder why I'm blue Ever think it might be because of you? Is it to be cool or liked Because right now you might be hyped. But when your all grown up And think your good enough You’ll think back to me, And want to set me free But i’m gone.
